Test your proficiency level
With the following test you can test your own proficiency level Dutch. This test is designed for
beginners and advanced beginners.
Your level will be set using the Common European Framework of Reference
for Languages.
The Council of Europe's Common European Framework of Reference
for Languages:
- Six different levels: from beginner to advanced;
- Four different skills: listening, reading, speaking and writing;
- An average of 40 to 60 hours of study is needed to move up a level.

Staatsexamen NT2:
- For anyone, whose mother tongue is not Dutch;
- Passing the Staatsexamen entitles you to the certificate NT2 of the Dutch Ministry of Education;
- Preparation for the Staatsexamen starts at level 3 (b1 or lower intermediate) of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
